Changing the Rules

November 15, 2012

Dean and I met this morning, and we’re making an executive decision: We’re going to start using the rules from last year and we’re both submitting our own designs, because we don’t think you all have that much motivation at this point in the auction (we’ve only raised $15 so far. Last year I raised $151 and the year before $175).

So if you’re unfamiliar with how the auction has been run in the past, well, it’s an auction. You can start making bids at any time or you can outbid anyone else’s previous bid. You can make bids with your own money or you can pool money together with friends and family. Or, if you want to do so, you can make separate bids for Dean and myself. As an example, you could request that Dean shave his beard into the Batman and I shave mine into the cat tail. However you want to do it.

The previous designs that received votes are already in the pool, so you can still make Dean and myself wear the Batman, cat tail, or the Mickey Rourke (see The two NEW designs are as follows: The Clean-Shaven (that’s pretty self-explanatory) and the Santa Clause (if I win this, my beard keeps on growing and I’ll dye it white).

The auction ends promptly at 11:59 PM PST on November 30th, so good luck!

I am still taking votes until 11:59 PM PST tonight on the first round of designs. So if you see something you really like on that first page, it needs 5 or more votes (donation of $5+) to make it to the last part of the auction.

Like this, but without the Civil War-style gear.

Heather wants this one too!
